A classic day hike from Loon Lake, with rewarding views and a historic Adirondack Fire Tower at the top.

Hike Loon Lake Mountain

Loon Lake Mountain is a moderately challenging hike with a killer view of the lake.

This six-mile round trip hike takes you through wetlands, old growth north country forests, and ends with a rocky scramble with wonderful views of Loon Lake and the Adirondacks.  The parking area is along Port Kent-Hopkinton Turnpike (Franklin County Road 26), just north of Grass Pond and across from Mullins Road.  For a great trail guide, go to this page on Protect The Adiondacks website.
